Welcome to the Forsyth Piecers and Quilters Guild’s website. You found us because you have an interest
in quilting. Take a look at our website and if you like what you see, join us at one of our monthly meetings,
the 2nd Monday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. Each month there is a program with a guest lecturer or featured local
quilter. Twice a year, June and December, we have a potluck dinner. Show and Tell is always a highlight at
each meeting when members show their latest completed quilt project.
Our 175 or so members have different skill levels. New quilters are always welcome as our guild is all about
providing educational opportunities with workshops throughout the year but the best part is learning from each
other and also the encouragement from the members.
I moved here in Oct. 2004 and joined the Guild in June 2005. Being a part of the Guild has been a great way
to make friends. I have learned so much too!
The generosity of our Guild member’s time and talent is evident in the way they give back to the community
with their handwork: Preemie quilts are made for the local NICU, a beautiful tree is decorated with handmade
ornaments each. Nov. and sold at the Festival of Trees with the money going to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital,
Nap Blankets are made for pre-schoolerss in our local schools and our newest project is making Lap Quilts
for the Neuro-Science ICU patients.
March 16th -17th , 2012 will be our biennial quilt show. Our guild is made up of a wide range of quilting
interest and abilities, from traditional to art quilts…..beginners to professional. The show will be a
beautiful example of work done by the Forsyth Piecers and Quilters Guild.
Hope you’ll come visit us. We would love to have you.
Quilts bring joy to our lives,
Ava Lewandowski, President 2011-2012 Forsyth Piecers and Quilters Guild
